Peter G. Obi CON, born on July 19, 1961, is a distinguished Nigerian politician and businessman with a legacy marked by resilience and leadership. Serving as the governor of Anambra for multiple terms from 2006 to 2014, Obi has consistently shaped the political landscape.

Educated at the University of Nigeria, Obi graduated in 1984 with a B.A. (Hons) in Philosophy. His early career in business saw him take on leadership roles in prominent establishments, including being the youngest chairman of Fidelity Bank Plc.

Obi's gubernatorial journey began in 2003, navigating legal challenges to assume office in 2006. Despite temporary setbacks, he secured a second term in 2010, leaving a lasting impact on Anambra's governance.

Post-governorship, Obi became an advocate for good governance and joined the Peoples Democratic Party. In 2019, he assumed the role of the PDP vice presidential nominee in the presidential election.

In 2022, Obi made a significant move, becoming the Labour Party's candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
