Frank Nnaemeka Nweke Jr is the son of late Chief Frank Nweke, Okeifufe N'akparu Ujo Nku I and Lolo Francisca Nweke, of Ishi Ozalla, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Frank began his early years in Lagos with his primary education at St. Paul’s Catholic school. Following his family’s move to Maiduguri in 1976, he completed his primary education at Shehu Garbai Primary School, proceeding to Federal Government College, Maiduguri for his secondary school education. He obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Zoology from the Federal University of Technology, Yola. He earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri.

Frank Nweke Jr is an ethical, exemplary and proven leader with over two decades of demonstrated success in senior leadership and management in the public, private and civic sectors.

He was invited to the Government in 1999 and served as a Resident Consultant on Economic Affairs, the State Coordinator of the Community County Council and the Chief of Staff to the Government of Enugu State, all between 1999 and 2003. Here, he stood out for his competence, dedication, innovative thinking, integrity and passion for service.

He was nominated for a role in the Federal Cabinet where he served as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria overseeing three portfolios between 2003 and 2007 as the Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs, Special Duties and Youth Development, Minister of Information and National Orientation and the Minister of Information and Communications.

He became the Director-General of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group between 2009 and 2014 after his return from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government where he earned a master’s degree in Public Administration and a certificate in Strategic Management.

Nweke is an 'Edward S. Mason Fellow, an alumnus of the Aspen Institute in Aspen, Colorado and was elected President of the Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Association of Nigeria, for the 2020 to 2022 term. He holds an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters from Gregory University, Uturu.

He vied for the position of Governor of Enugu in the 2023 Nigerian General Election, upon emerging as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance at the primary election in May 2022.

Frank loves teaching and is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Lagos Business School, a member of faculty at the School of Politics, Policies and Governance, a Guest Lecturer at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos and a Visiting Associate Professor at Gregory University, Uturu.

Nweke is an astute entrepreneur investing in the Media, Fintech, Petrochemical, Construction and Social Innovation sectors.

Frank is a supporter of art, music, and fashion and a tireless advocate for shared prosperity and Igbo values. His ultimate vision is a future where wealth, sustainability, and profit coexist harmoniously, and politics is more mainstream.

He enjoys reading, travelling and collecting art. Proudly Igbo, and a friend and leader to all, he speaks Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa, the three major Nigerian languages fluently.
